Important Note About Labeling of Wheat Based Ingredients in FDARegulated Foods

Under FALCPA, if an ingredient in an FDA-regulated food product contains protein from wheat, the word wheat must be included on the food label. However, if a product contains an ingredient made from wheat but the ingredient does not contain protein, wheat does not have to be declared on the food label.
