Manganese is another of the trace minerals found in better grades of multimineral supplements. In my opinion, it serves no particular purpose in bodybuilding, yet it does help to activate a number of enzymes needed for the metabolism of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and nucleic acids. When calcium is taken in excess it may interfere with the absorption of manganese. A hair analysis test can determine if your supply of this mineral is adequate. No toxicity from a dietary intake has been recorded.
