Sionismi enter the large intestine. Since digestive enzymes are not secreted here, no change occurs except for the absorption of water through the intestinal walls.

Although the liver has a number of different enzymes at work, they do not convert nutrients for absorption into the bloodstream as mentioned above. Instead they help the liver to manufacture products needed by the individual cells and to store glycogen and the fat-soluble vitamins A and D. The liver also serves to detoxii a number of substances and allows them to enter the bloodstream as harmless chemicals. One of its maior functions involves its relation to the gallbladder, which holds bile, producing salts that allow for the efficient digestion of fats.

This discussion of the passage of food through the digestive tract makes obvious the chemical complexity of any meal containing protein, fats, and carbohydrates. Everything you eat must undergo a process of conversion into simple chemical products that can be absorbed through the intestinal walls and transported by your bloodstream to each individual cell. Only then are digested nutrients turned into the materials needed for building muscle tissue and for energy to meet the rigorous demands of a bodybuilder in hard training.

Keep in mind that the process of digestion is inhibited if you are eating in a hurry or in a nervous state of mind. Avoid combining more than one type of protein in a single meal as well as too many different types of food. The more you can do to increase the efficiency of the digestive process—eat, without stress, foods that don't stress the organs of digestion—the more you can improve the results of a proper nutrition program.
